Yeah, I really can’t grasp the fact that we’re playing with one of MY personal favourite bands, but a legendary punk rock act, at that. The idea alone makes me a happy boy!

Regardless, Lemuria, Yesterday’s Ring and Ottawa’s Year Zero are also playing the show. I can’t begin to express the fun that will come out of this show.

Anyway, here is the information you will need to attend the show :

Leatherface is a relatively obscure but critically acclaimed British punk band from Sunderland fronted by Frankie Stubbs. Formed in August 1988, they have released eight full-length albums so far. Their music has been described as a cross between Hüsker Dü, Bad Religion and Motörhead, a notable element being Stubbs’ rasping, “gravelly” vocals. The lyrics of the band often feature far-fetched similes, metaphors, wordplay and obscure allusions.

Though never attaining much more than a cult following outside their native country, the band has been cited as a major influence by higher-profile hardcore punk acts such as Hot Water Music and Dillinger Four. Jack Rabid, music critic and publisher of the music magazine Big Takeover, once listed Leatherface’s 1992 release Mush as one of the fifty greatest punk albums of all time.
